Gurdaspur (Punjab): Himachal Pradesh Governor Kavinder Gupta, accompanied by First Lady Bindu Gupta, offered prayers at the revered Baba Lal Ji Dhainpur Dham in Punjab on Monday on the eve of Guru Purnima, praying for peace, prosperity and the well-being of all.
Extending his greetings on the auspicious occasion, the Governor described Guru Purnima as a timeless celebration of the Guru-Shishya tradition, which he said has remained the cornerstone of India’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage.
He said the guidance of a Guru enlightens minds, strengthens character and inspires individuals to follow the path of truth, righteousness and selfless service.
Highlighting the contribution of saints to Indian society, Gupta said they have played a vital role in preserving the country’s civilisational values while promoting compassion, harmony and universal brotherhood.
He observed that the teachings of saints continue to inspire people to rise above divisions and work collectively for the welfare of humanity.
Expressing hope that Guru Purnima would motivate people to imbibe the virtues of humility, discipline, devotion and service to society, the Governor conveyed his greetings and best wishes to the people on the occasion.
He also prayed that the blessings of the revered Guru continue to guide everyone towards a life of peace, prosperity and righteousness.
