SRINAGAR: Social Welfare Department (SWD), SANKALP-HEW Srinagar, organized a Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) awareness and enrolment drive at Jawahar Lal Nehru Memorial (JLNM) Hospital, Rainawari, Srinagar, today.
The drive was aimed at creating awareness among expectant and lactating mothers about the benefits available under PMMVY and facilitating eligible beneficiaries in accessing the scheme.
During the programme, the officials of SANKALP HEW Srinagar interacted with beneficiaries and provided information regarding the eligibility criteria, application process and benefits under the scheme. During the drive, 22 beneficiaries were successfully linked with PMMMVY scheme enabling them to avail the benefits as per the prescribed guidelines.
The participants were sensitized about the importance of timely registration and availing maternity-related entitlements through the designated process. The officials also encouraged eligible women to come forward and register under the scheme so that the intended benefits reach the beneficiaries in a timely manner.
The initiative reflects the Department’s continued efforts towards ensuring effective implementation of welfare schemes and improving awareness and accessibility of government benefits among eligible beneficiaries.
The Department urged eligible beneficiaries to come forward and avail the benefits of PMMVY and other welfare schemes being implemented for their social and economic empowerment.
