JAMMU: Shakuntla Roshan Lal Vohra (SRLV) Charitable and Welfare Trust was formally inaugurated with the launch of its official website and the release of “Looking Through the Window: Northeast Poetry Anthology” edited by Prof. Anupama Vohra and Dr. Prasanta Chakraborty.
The event was graced by Anuradha Gupta, Director General, Youth Services and Sports J&K UT, as Chief Guest. Padma Shri awardee Prof. Lalit Mangotra attended as Guest of Honor, and Prof. Javed Rahi, Additional Secretary JKAACL, joined as Special Guest. Trust members, academicians, writers and distinguished guests were present during the ceremony.
Scholarly papers reflecting on the anthology’s themes and representation of Northeast poetic voices were presented by Prof. Kshamata Chaudhary (VMOU, Kota) and Dr. Koshika Sharma (University of Jammu).
Trust President Prof. Anupama Vohra shared the vision and objectives behind SRLV Trust, instituted in memory of her parents Shakuntla and Roshan Lal Vohra, under the patronage of Veena Suri.
Chief Guest Anuradha Gupta congratulated the Trust on the book launch and appreciated its initiative, while Prof. Mangotra encouraged philanthropic engagement. Prof. Rahi highlighted literature as a bridge of cultures and identities.
The event began with a welcome address by Prof. Jasbir Singh and concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Sindhuja Gupta, Treasurer SRLV Trust. Souvenirs were presented to dignitaries as a token of gratitude.
The occasion was attended by faculty and officers of University of Jammu and Cluster University Jammu, poets, writers, scholars and members of civil society.
