SRINAGAR: A local court in Srinagar on Thursday issued a non-bailable warrant against former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah in connection with the alleged scam in the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA).
Chief Judicial Magistrate Tabassum passed the order after Abdullah failed to appear before the court either in person or through virtual mode. The court also rejected his plea seeking exemption from personal appearance.
The magistrate similarly dismissed the exemption application filed by another accused, Manzoor Gazanfar Ali, and issued a non-bailable warrant against him as well.
The court observed that if any of the accused fails to appear before it, appropriate action would follow.
The case has been listed for further hearing on March 30.
