MUMBAI: Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) continued its upward momentum on Wednesday, with its shares rising nearly 2 per cent and pushing the company’s market capitalisation past the ₹21 lakh crore milestone.
On the BSE, the stock gained 1.99 per cent to close at ₹1,569.75 after touching a 52-week high of ₹1,571.80 during the trading session. At the NSE, Reliance shares advanced 1.96 per cent to finish at ₹1,569.90, also hitting an intra-day 52-week peak of ₹1,571.60.
With this rally, the conglomerate’s market valuation climbed to ₹21,24,259.89 crore by market close.
This marks the second consecutive day of gains for RIL, which had edged up 0.21 per cent on Tuesday. The stock has delivered strong performance so far in 2025, rising more than 29 per cent since the beginning of the year.
Reliance’s surge also played a key role in propelling the broader market upward. The benchmark BSE Sensex soared 1,022.50 points, or 1.21 per cent, to end at 85,609.51, while the NSE Nifty jumped 320.50 points, or 1.24 per cent, to settle at 26,205.30.
“Foreign Institutional Investor (FII) buying returned on Tuesday, reinforcing bullish sentiment, while heavyweights like HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, and Reliance Industries added stability to the market rally,” said Gaurav Garg, Research Analyst at Lemonn Markets Desk.
