JAMMU: Railway authorities have clarified that no Vande Bharat train has so far operated at a speed of 100 kmph on the Chenab Bridge or Anji Bridge and urged media organisations and news portals not to circulate misleading reports in this regard.
The clarification comes after reports suggested that Vande Bharat trains had already run at 100 kmph over the two iconic railway bridges.
Authorities said approval has been granted to increase the permissible speed of trains to 100 kmph on the Banihal–Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra rail section.
However, they stressed that no train has yet been operated at 100 kmph following the approval.
Media organisations have been requested to accurately distinguish between approval for enhancement of permissible speed and actual operation of trains at the revised speed.
The clarification is aimed at preventing misinformation regarding train operations on the recently commissioned rail section connecting Kashmir with the rest of the country.
