KARGIL: An orientation camp for Sub-Inspector and Constable aspirants commenced in Kargil on the directions of Mukesh Singh, Director General of Police, UT Ladakh. The initiative aims to train and familiarise candidates for the upcoming recruitment in Ladakh Police.
Organised by District Police Kargil, the camp began at Khree Sultan Cho Stadium, witnessing an overwhelming response with over 500 aspirants registering and participating on the first day. Officers briefed candidates on the recruitment process and its various stages.
As part of the programme, participants were introduced to the Physical Endurance Test (PET), which includes long runs, long jump, and push-ups for male candidates, while female candidates will undertake shot put, in accordance with prescribed standards.
The training camp for the PET will be followed by separate orientation sessions for the written examination for both Sub-Inspector and Constable aspirants.
Addressing the gathering, Nitin Yadav encouraged aspirants to train diligently and wished them success. He reiterated the commitment of Ladakh Police, under the leadership of Mukesh Singh, to ensure proper preparation of candidates for both physical and written stages. He also announced that similar camps will be organised in Zanskar.
Additional SP Kargil Kacho Ishtyaq A. A. Khan welcomed the aspirants and briefed them about the PET framework.
The camp is being supported by Physical Education Teachers from the Youth Services and Sports Department Kargil, who have been specially deployed to assist in training the aspirants.
