JAMMU: Taking into account passenger demand and convenience, the Northern Railway’s Jammu Division has decided to extend the operational period of the special reserved train No. 04081/04082 running between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra.
The decision has been taken in view of the heavy rush of devotees expected for the Darshan at Vaishno Devi Temple during the auspicious festival of Chaitra Navratri. The move aims to ensure a smooth and hassle-free journey for pilgrims visiting the shrine.

Train No. 04081 – New Delhi to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra
- Earlier Schedule: February 21 to March 8, 2026
- Extended Schedule: March 17 to March 30, 2026
- Total Trips: 14
Train No. 04082 – Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to New Delhi
- Earlier Schedule: February 22 to March 9, 2026
- Extended Schedule: March 18 to March 31, 2026
- Total Trips: 14
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal said the Railways has always remained sensitive to passenger convenience and growing travel demand. He noted that the extension decision was taken due to the train’s immense popularity and 100 percent occupancy recorded during earlier trips.
He added that the service will particularly benefit tourists and devotees visiting for Darshan at Vaishno Devi as well as travelers heading towards Kashmir during the upcoming Chaitra Navratri.
Passengers have been advised to verify the train schedule through Dial 139 or the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) before commencing their journey.
