LEH: Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Northern Command, on Wednesday visited the Air Movement Control Centre and Logistics Hub in Leh and reviewed the security situation and operational preparedness in eastern Ladakh, the Army said.
Lt Gen Sharma is currently on a tour of the Union Territory of Ladakh. On Tuesday, he called on Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta in Leh.
The Army Commander was accompanied by the General Officer Commanding of the Leh-based 14 Corps, Lt Gen Hitesh Bhalla.
According to a post by the Army’s Northern Command on X, Lt Gen Sharma visited forward posts in eastern Ladakh, where he reviewed the prevailing security situation and assessed the operational preparedness of troops deployed in the region. He also interacted with soldiers stationed at these high-altitude posts.
During the interaction, the Army Commander lauded the troops for their unwavering dedication, high level of readiness and professional excellence while operating under extremely challenging terrain and harsh climatic conditions.
In a separate post, the Army said Lt Gen Sharma also visited the Air Movement Control Centre and the Logistics Hub at Leh, underscoring the importance of sustained logistical support and rapid mobility in maintaining operational effectiveness in the region.
