DODA: National Deworming Day (NDD) was observed today across the health facilities, educational institutions and Anganwadi Centres of district Doda.
The Health Department conducted the deworming campaign in collaboration with the Education Department and ICDS-Poshan Department.
The district-level programme was organised at Government Higher Secondary School Girls Doda, where Chief Medical Officer Dr. Vinod Sharma administered Albendazole tablets to the school children, formally marking the district-wide observance of National Deworming Day.
The CMO highlighted the importance of deworming in protecting children and adolescents from intestinal worm infections and improving their overall health, nutritional status and capacity to learn. He urged students to take the prescribed dose of Albendazole under the supervision of health and frontline workers and encouraged parents and teachers to support the campaign.
Similar programmes were conducted simultaneously across all Medical Blocks of the district under the supervision of the respective Block Medical Officers. Albendazole tablets were administered to eligible beneficiaries at health facilities, schools and Anganwadi Centres, with health personnel, teachers, Anganwadi workers and other frontline functionaries actively participating in the campaign.
The Mop-Up Day will be observed on August 17, 2026 to provide deworming to eligible beneficiaries who could not receive the dose on National Deworming Day.
