SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday released “NEP-2020: A Peek into Ancient Indian Education”, authored by Prof. (Dr.) Raj Shree Dhar, at an event in Srinagar.
Congratulating the author and the team behind the Triloki Raj Foundation, Sinha extended his best wishes for their future initiatives.
The book forms part of the foundation’s knowledge initiatives aimed at promoting Indian Knowledge Systems. It examines India’s ancient educational traditions and explores their relevance to the transformative framework of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
According to the foundation, the book looks at key themes reflected in NEP-2020, including holistic education, multidisciplinary learning, experiential learning, critical thinking, value-based education, research and innovation, and the integration of diverse streams of knowledge.
The publication seeks to draw connections between the educational practices and knowledge traditions of ancient India and contemporary approaches to learning envisaged under NEP-2020.
Those present on the occasion included Dr. Manorama Bakshi, Founder and Director, Triloki Raj Foundation; Er. Patanjali Dhar, Co-Founder and Director; Dr. Rajendra Dhar, Professor and Head of the Department of General Medicine at NIMS, Jaipur; and Ashok Dhar, Clinical Pathologist.
The book release marked another initiative by the Triloki Raj Foundation to promote discussion around India’s traditional knowledge heritage and its relevance to contemporary education.
