JAMMU: The Indian Army conducted an Army Attachment Camp for 45 Senior Wing Girl Cadets from various Jammu and Kashmir Girls NCC Battalions from September 15 to 26, providing them first-hand exposure to the functioning, ethos and operational environment of the armed forces.
During the 12-day camp, the cadets visited the Army Martial Arts Regime (AMAR) training node, a heritage museum and drone laboratory, besides armoured, artillery and infantry units and other military facilities.
The cadets were familiarised with Area Domination Patrols, Mobile Vehicle Check Posts, field craft, battle craft and map reading. They also received exposure to weapon handling, combat first aid, hygiene and sanitation, firing-range procedures and new-generation weapons and equipment.
The programme also gave the cadets an opportunity to observe tanks, artillery guns and the functioning of various Arms and Services, providing them with a broader understanding of military operations and life in uniform.
The attachment camp was aimed at giving the NCC cadets an insight into the discipline and demands of military life while fostering leadership, teamwork, confidence and a sense of responsibility.
