SHOPIAN: The Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), District Centre Shopian, organised a Startup Idea Challenge – Junior Level at National Innovation Public School (NIPS), Zainapora, with the objective of fostering innovation, entrepreneurial thinking and a startup culture among school students.
Students from NIPS Zainapora, Allama Iqbal School Zainapora and Government Higher Secondary School Zainapora participated enthusiastically in the boot camp and showcased a range of innovative ideas. Faculty members from the participating institutions were also present and encouraged the students to explore creativity, problem-solving and entrepreneurship.
The programme was moderated by Mudasir Mohiudin, Assistant Faculty, JKEDI Shopian, who also delivered the welcome address. Mudasir Ahmad Khan assisted in the conduct of the programme.
A detailed presentation on the J&K Startup Policy was delivered by Sajad Ahmad, who sensitised the participants about the opportunities, incentives and institutional support available under the policy for aspiring entrepreneurs.
Prof. Sheeraz Gull, GDC Zainapora, and Farooq Ahmad, LDM, J&K Bank, also addressed the gathering and shared valuable insights into innovation, entrepreneurship and the startup ecosystem. They encouraged the students to develop innovative solutions and consider entrepreneurship as a promising career pathway.
