JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Wednesday ordered the promotion of three Deputy Superintendents of Police (General Cadre) as Superintendents of Police with immediate effect.
According to Government Order No. 451-Home of 2026, issued by the Home Department on September 2, the promoted officers are Suresh Kumar Sharma, Nissar Ahmad Darzi and Varun Jandial.
The officers have been promoted to the rank of Superintendent of Police in Pay Level-11 (₹67,700–2,08,700).
The order states that the promotions will remain subject to the outcome of any writ petitions, if pending before a competent court of law.
The order has been issued by Chandraker Bharti, IAS, Principal Secretary to the Government, by order of the Lieutenant Governor.
