JAMMU: A delegation of Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu, participated in the 12th edition of the Welham Boys’ School Model United Nations (WELMUN) 2026, held at Welham Boys’ School in Dehradun.
The inter-school conference was organised under the theme “Order ab Chao” — Order from Chaos — and provided students with a platform to engage in diplomacy, policymaking, crisis management and intellectual debate.
Participants deliberated in committees including the United Nations Security Council, UNGA-DISEC, UNGA-SPECPOL, United Nations Human Rights Council, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the International Press Corps, besides other specialised forums.
The school was represented by Hargun Anand, Chanasya Anand, Harjas Kour, Saavni Malhotra, Mohini Sharma, Mehak Malhotra, Ashutosh Sharma, Vihan Kalgotra, Rajveer Singh, Samardeep Singh, Atharv Sharma and Arman Krishna.
The school said the students displayed confidence, critical thinking, persuasive oratory and a collaborative approach during the conference.
The delegation was mentored and accompanied by Pallavi Bhalla, PGT English, and Nirmal Singh, PGT Chemistry, who guided the students in their preparation for the event.
Principal-cum-Vice Chairperson Rohini Aima congratulated the students and their mentors, saying participation in forums such as WELMUN helps develop confidence, leadership skills and a global outlook among students.
She said such exposure prepares students to become responsible citizens and future changemakers.
