JAMMU: Jammu Division is taking steady steps towards enhancing its revenue generation, particularly through non-fare revenue streams. In recent months, multi-purpose stalls at various railway stations have been allotted via e-auction, contributing notably to revenue growth and improved passenger amenities.
Continuing this momentum, the division today successfully conducted an e-auction for advertising rights on five Railway Underbridges (RUBs). The winning bidder has been granted advertising rights for a period of three years, expected to generate approximately ₹44 lakh in non-fare revenue during this tenure.
Railway Underbridges included in the auction:
- Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan to Jammu side, Narwal RUB No. 1
- Jammu–Pathankot side, Channi Himmat RUB No. 242
- Jammu–Pathankot side, Kunjwani RUB No. 237
- Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan to Jammu side, Baghe Bahu RUB No. 247
- Jammu–Pathankot side, Samba RUB No. 173
Speaking about the development, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Uchit Singhal, said:
“This is the first e-auction conducted for advertising rights on railway underbridges, and it has been successful. Thousands of people pass through these railway underbridges daily, providing a large market for producers to promote their brands. Located at strategic points, these sites ensure 24/7 visibility for advertisements.”
The initiative marks another step toward expanding alternative revenue channels for Indian Railways while enabling businesses to access high-visibility advertising spaces.
