JAMMU: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the District Administration and Jammu Police on Saturday carried out coordinated demolition drives in Jammu and Bishnah tehsils, razing illegal properties allegedly built using proceeds from the narcotics trade.
During the joint operation, authorities demolished multiple structures with a combined estimated value of nearly ₹3 crore, while also recovering heroin and illegal weapons from the accused.
In Ismailpur Kothey of Bishnah tehsil, officials demolished a double-storey structure valued at approximately ₹1.5 crore belonging to an alleged drug peddler.
In a parallel operation in the Nikki Tawi area of Jammu Khas tehsil, joint teams demolished properties belonging to two other alleged drug peddlers worth around ₹1.3 crore. The teams also removed illegal encroachments from government land during the drive.
Officials said the action forms part of the administration’s ongoing campaign to dismantle assets allegedly acquired through the illegal drug trade and to curb narcotics-related activities across the district. The operations were conducted jointly by the District Administration and Jammu Police.
