JAMMU: Stephens International Public School celebrated its Investiture Ceremony with great enthusiasm and pride, marking a significant occasion as the institution commemorates its 20th year of excellence in the field of education.
The ceremony was graced by distinguished guests Justice Vinod Chatterji Koul, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India and Former High Court Judge; Dr B N Tripathi, Vice Chancellor, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST); and Advocate Shivani Jalali Pandita, Senior Advocate, High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
The dignitaries were welcomed by Dr Kamal Saini, IGP (Retd.) and Chairman of Stephens International Public School, Mrs Satvinder Saini, Director, and Advocate Kunal Saini, Trustee of the school.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Kamal Saini expressed gratitude to the distinguished guests and parents for their gracious presence and unwavering support to the school management. He congratulated the elected members of the Student Council and lauded them for accepting the responsibility of leadership.
The highlight of the event was the formal induction of the newly elected Student Council by Dr Manjari Sehgal, Principal of the school. The student leaders, including the Head Boy, Head Girl, Vice Head Boy, Vice Head Girl, Discipline Captain, Sports Captain, Cultural Captain and House Prefects, took a solemn pledge to uphold the values, vision and principles of the institution.
The investiture ceremony was symbolised by the presentation of badges and sashes to the student leaders by the dignitaries, signifying the trust reposed in them and the responsibilities they would undertake during their tenure.
Adding vibrancy to the occasion, students presented a series of captivating cultural performances, including a powerful rendition of Shiv Tandav and a motivational dance performance, showcasing their artistic talent and creativity.
Advocate Kunal Saini, Trustee of the school, expressed his appreciation to the guests, parents and attendees for their participation in the event. He encouraged students to set meaningful goals and work diligently towards achieving them while striving to make a positive contribution to society.
An interactive open-house discussion was also organised to sensitize students about the importance of leadership and responsible decision-making. Students actively participated in the session, raising questions that were thoughtfully addressed by the distinguished guests.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr B N Tripathi commended the school management for nurturing students and preparing them for global leadership roles. Justice Vinod Chatterji Koul motivated the young leaders with an inspiring message, stating, “Be optimistic to criticism and the future is yours. Take the lead and shine.”
Advocate Shivani Jalali Pandita also addressed the gathering and emphasized that young learners possess immense potential and that the key to success lies in channelising their energy in the right direction.
The ceremony concluded with the felicitation of Justice Vinod Chatterji Koul, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India and Former High Court Judge; Dr B N Tripathi, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST; and Advocate Shivani Jalali Pandita, Senior Advocate, High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, with mementos and gifts as a token of appreciation for their presence and valuable insights.
