JAMMU/SRINAGAR: IndiGo on Saturday resumed nine of its 11 scheduled flights from Jammu Airport, bringing much-needed relief to passengers stranded over the past two days due to large-scale cancellations across the country.
However, flight operations in Srinagar continued to face major disruption, with seven IndiGo services cancelled amid an ongoing pilot rostering crisis.
Airport officials said operations at Jammu saw significant improvement through the day, helping clear a buildup of frustrated travellers who had been waiting for departures since Friday. Two flights — connecting Jammu to Mumbai and Hyderabad — remain suspended for now, an IndiGo representative said.
In Srinagar, the situation was markedly different. IndiGo was to operate 36 flights on Saturday — 18 arrivals and 18 departures — but the disruption led to the cancellation of seven inbound and seven outbound services. Another airline also cancelled a to-and-fro flight, officials confirmed, noting that further schedule updates were awaited.
While the resumption of services at Jammu has eased pressure at the terminal, cancellations in Srinagar added to the nationwide ripple effects of IndiGo’s manpower and scheduling disorder, which has triggered massive delays and flight withdrawals since Wednesday.
