JAMMU: The Jammu & Kashmir Branch of NIRC of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) organised a seminar on “Tax Audit & Taxation of Charitable Institutions” at ICAI Bhawan, Canal Road, Jammu, on Sunday.
The programme was organised under the aegis of the Taxation Audits Quality Review Board (TAQRB) of ICAI and carried six CPE Hours credit for participating members.
A large number of members and delegates from across the region attended the seminar, reflecting growing professional interest in developments relating to tax audit and taxation of charitable institutions.
The proceedings began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by the ICAI anthem.
CA Amit Gupta, Chairman, ICAI-J&K Branch (NIRC), delivered the inaugural address and welcomed the speakers and delegates. He highlighted the relevance of the subject for practising chartered accountants.
CA Sanchit Aggarwal, Secretary of the branch, delivered the welcome address and anchored the programme throughout the day.
The technical sessions began with CA Deepak Bholusaria addressing the gathering on “Tax Audit Forms”, offering a detailed and practical perspective on recent changes and compliance requirements.
This was followed by a session on “Taxation of Charitable Institutions” by CA Ved Mittal, who discussed key legislative developments affecting trusts and charitable entities.
Both technical sessions were followed by interactive question-and-answer rounds, providing delegates an opportunity to seek clarification on practical issues faced in day-to-day professional practice.
The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by CA Jatin Malhotra, Vice-Chairman, ICAI-J&K Branch (NIRC), who thanked the Chairman, speakers, branch team, staff and participating members for making the programme successful.
The event concluded with the National Anthem.
