SAMBA: Government Degree College Vijaypur, under the guidance of Principal Dr. Ashu Vashisht, continued its special series of activities in celebration of Independence Day.
On the second day of the event lineup, a painting competition was organized, drawing enthusiastic participation from more than 20 students.
The theme of the competition was “Unsung Heroes of the Freedom Struggle,” allowing students to creatively express their respect and admiration for the often-overlooked contributors to India’s independence movement. Kusum of Semester V clinched the first position, followed by Chandan in second place, while Vinayak, also of Semester V, was awarded the third position for their impressive art work.
The competition was adjudged by an esteemed panel comprising Prof. Anita Jamwal, Prof. Mamta Gupta, and Prof. Ritu Bhagat. The event was meticulously organized by Prof. Arti Sharma and Prof. Meetu Sharma, who ensured its smooth conduct and creative spirit.
The event highlighted the college’s commitment to instilling patriotism and historical awareness among students through art and culture.
