JAMMU: In a heartfelt initiative to promote women’s health and cancer awareness, FICCI FLO Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh Chapter (FICCI FLO JKL), in collaboration with SMVD Narayana Superspeciality Hospital and the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), launched a large-scale community health campaign titled “Let’s Paint Jammu Pink — Together for Her.”
The campaign commenced with a comprehensive cancer screening camp for JMC sanitation workers, offering free PSA tests, Pap smears, and mammography screenings. A 20% healthcare discount card for sanitation workers was also unveiled, applicable at SMVD Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Kakryal, and SMVD Multi-Speciality Clinic, Green Belt Park, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
The initiative aims to conduct 1,000 free mammography screenings for underprivileged women by March 31, 2026. As part of the symbolic outreach, the Jammu Tawi bridges will be illuminated in pink, underscoring the city’s commitment to women’s health, awareness, and early detection of cancer.
Dr. Devansh Yadav (IAS), Commissioner, JMC, lauded the effort, saying:
“Sanitation workers are the backbone of our city. Prioritizing their health reflects true inclusivity. I commend FICCI FLO JKL and SMVD Narayana Hospital for this noble collaboration.”
Arti Choudhary, Chairperson, FICCI FLO JKL, highlighted the broader vision behind the campaign:
“Painting Jammu pink is not just symbolic — it’s a movement for awareness, access, and empowerment. Every woman deserves timely screening and care.”
Dr. M.M. Mathavan, Facility Director, SMVD Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, emphasized the importance of preventive healthcare:
“Through this partnership, we’re extending preventive healthcare to the community. Early detection saves lives, and our mission is to make it accessible to all.”
The campaign will continue with awareness drives, outreach sessions, and specialized screening camps across Jammu in the coming months, reinforcing the collective goal of making women’s health a community priority.
