BANDIPORA: The District Administration Bandipora is scheduled to organise an exhibition on promotion of home composting and display of composting products on August 17, 2026, at the Conference Hall, Mini Secretariat, Bandipora.
The exhibition will showcase composting products, technologies, equipment and practical solutions for households, institutions and commercial establishments, besides promoting home and decentralised composting and conversion of biodegradable waste into useful compost/manure.
All interested manufacturers, suppliers, entrepreneurs, Self Help Groups, NGOs, institutions and other stakeholders dealing in composting products/solutions have been invited to participate. Bulk Waste Generators identified by Municipal Institutions and the Rural Development Department will also participate mandatorily in the exhibition.
District Administration Bandipora has taken several initiatives under Solid Waste Management, including identification and sensitisation of Bulk Waste Generators, Extended Producer Responsibility awareness and procedures, plastic check-posts at tourist spots, identification of garbage hotspots, Swachhata 50-50 through public-government participation, and web-based IEC initiatives for D2D awareness.
The District Administration Bandipora has now taken up home composting as the next line of action.
