BANDIPORA: The District Administration Bandipora is set to conduct an extensive awareness campaign in vulnerable areas along Nallah Madhumati to sensitize the local population about the risk of drowning incidents and necessary precautions to be taken around the Nallah.
The campaign shall focus on educating residents, particularly children and youth, about discouraging swimming or bathing in the Nallah and venturing out near the dangerous stretches of the Nallah.
The awareness programmes shall include school students, teachers, religious leaders, local Masjid Committees, AWWs, ASHAs, inhabitants of the respective areas and other interested persons.
As per the schedule, the awareness programme will be held at Middle School Athwatoo on October 3 at 11:00 AM; High School Bonakoot on October 6 at 11:00 AM; near Jamia Masjid Tangath on October 9 at 1:00 PM; Panchayat Ghar Guzerbal on October 13 at 11:00 AM; and near Jamia Masjid Watrina on October 16 at 1:00 PM.
The programme at Sonerwani will be held at Middle School Sonerwani on October 19 at 11:00 AM, while Pazalpora will host the programme at Higher Secondary School Mantrigram on October 23 at 11:00 AM. At Laharwalpora, the programme will be held near Jamia Masjid Laharwalpora on October 27 at 1:00 PM, followed by Nathpora near Jamia Masjid Nathpora on October 30 at 1:00 PM.
The programme at Dachigam will be held at Middle School Dachigam on November 3 at 11:00 AM, while the final programme at Kaloosa/Muslimabad will be held at N M Higher Secondary School Kaloosa on November 6 at 11:00 AM, as per the issued schedule.
The awareness programmes will be attended by officials/ representatives from Revenue, Flood & Emergency Services, SDRF, Police, Rural Development Department, ICDS, Health and District Control Room.
