JAMMU: In a major crackdown on illegal gambling, the Jhajjar Kotli Police under Jammu (Rural) Zone late last night apprehended nine persons engaged in gambling activities involving cards and dice during a routine patrol. During the raid, the police recovered stake money (Tigdi) amounting to ₹1,07,180 from the spot, along with playing cards and dice. SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Tuesday informed the Legislative Assembly that over 5,200 posts of doctors and paramedics are currently lying vacant across health institutions in the Union Territory.
