JAMMU: Concerned over the growing involvement of two-wheelers in road accidents, Traffic Police Rural Jammu has decided to launch a two-week intensive Awareness-cum-Enforcement Drive W.E.F. 01/09/2026 to 14/09/2026 across four Districts of Samba, Kathua, Rajouri and Poonch to curb traffic violations and enhance road safety. According to analysis of road accident data from January 01 to July 31, 2026, a total of 699 road accidents were reported in the four Districts, resulting in 88 fatalities and injuries to 1001 persons. The data reveals that two-wheelers were involved in 309 accidents, accounting for 44 per cent of the total road mishaps.…

JAMMU: A meeting of Legal Aid Defense Counsels (LADCs) was convened today by District legal Services Authority (DLSA) Jammu in the Office Chamber of the Secretary. The meeting was chaired by Civil Judge (Sr. Division)/Secretary, DLSA Maleeka Sharma and was attended by all LADCs. During the meeting, the data and case status of the LADCs were checked and reviewed. The LADCs were given instructions to work diligently, to take up the assigned cases effectively, to ensure timely filing of reports, to provide free legal aid to eligible persons.
