JAMMU: Aneesha Sharma has scripted history for Jammu and Kashmir by winning two medals — a Team Gold and an Individual Bronze — at the Asian Shooting Championship 2026, becoming the first shooter from the Jammu & Kashmir Rifle Association (JKRA) to secure two international podium finishes at an Asian Championship.
Her outstanding performance has brought immense pride to the region and the nation, marking a landmark moment in the sporting history of Jammu and Kashmir.
Aneesha trains at the Mission Olympics Shooting Academy Jammu (MOSAJ) under the guidance of Coach Vishal Mehra and Aman Singh. Currently ranked India Junior No. 2, she has consistently excelled at the national level, winning multiple medals at the National Shooting Championships, Khelo India Shooting Sports (KSS) Championships, and All India Inter-University competitions.
Her journey reflects dedication, discipline and relentless hard work, perfectly embodying the spirit and vision of the Mission Olympics programme.
Praising her historic achievement, Chief Patron of JKRA Dilbag Singh, former DGP of J&K, along with JKRA President Surinder Singh Sodhi, lauded Aneesha’s determination and commitment to excellence, calling it a proud and defining moment for Jammu & Kashmir.
