SHOPIAN: District Level Review Committee (DLRC)-cum-District Consultative Committee (DCC) meeting of District Shopian to review the performance of financial institutions for the 1st Quarter of FY 2026-27, ended June 30, 2026, was held today at the Meeting Hall of the District Administrative Complex, Shopian.
At the outset, the LDM apprised the meeting about the major achievements of the district in the financial sector as on June 30, 2026.
It was informed that deposits in the district registered a 13% year-on-year (YoY) growth, while witnessing a 2% decline compared to the previous quarter ended March 31, 2026.
Similarly, advances recorded a 15% YoY growth and a 4% increase over the previous quarter. Priority Sector Advances registered a 6% YoY growth and an 8% increase over the previous quarter.
The Non-Priority Sector of the district recorded a significant 29% YoY growth, though it witnessed a 3% decline compared to the previous quarter.
The meeting was also informed that the Credit-Deposit (CD) Ratio of the district stood at 130% as on June 30, 2026.
Reviewing the progress under the District Credit Plan (DCP) 2026-27, it was informed that against the annual financial target of ₹2,308.18 crore and a physical target of 58,123 beneficiaries, various banks operating in the district disbursed ₹397.10 crore to 13,466 beneficiaries during the first quarter of the current financial year, with an achievement of 17% of the annual financial target and 23% of the physical target during the quarter.
Dr Nasir Lone reviewed the performance of banks and departments and stressed upon all stakeholders to further strengthen coordination and ensure timely disposal and sanctioning of eligible cases under various credit-linked schemes. He called for focused efforts to improve financial inclusion, credit flow to priority sectors and achievement of the targets fixed under the District Credit Plan.
The ADDC also emphasised the need for regular monitoring of the implementation of various Government-sponsored schemes so that maximum eligible beneficiaries derive the intended benefits.
The meeting was chaired by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Shopian, Dr Nasir Ahmad Lone, and attended by Chief Planning Officer Shopian, Mudasir Ahmad, General Manager DIC, Shopian, Surjeel Ahmad, Lead District Manager (LDM) Shopian, Farooq Ahmad, Lead District Officer (LDO), RBI, district-level officers of various Government Departments and representatives of banks.
