JAMMU: On the auspicious occasion of the 95th birthday of Karan Singh, former Sadr-e-Riyasat of Jammu and Kashmir and Chairman Trustee of the Dharmarth Trust, a series of religious ceremonies were organised on Tuesday to pray for his happiness, good health and long life.
A solemn Rudrabhishek, Pooja Archana and Havan were performed at the historic Raghunath Temple, Jammu, invoking the blessings of Lord Rama for the well-being of the revered leader.
Dr. P.S. Pathania, President of the Dharmarth Trust, performed the Havan at the temple premises. The rituals were conducted in accordance with Vedic traditions and were attended by priests, devotees and well-wishers who gathered in large numbers to participate in the celebrations.
As part of the occasion, a Langar was also organised for devotees, reflecting the spirit of seva and community service associated with the Dharmarth Trust.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Pathania said that Dr Karan Singh is not only the Chairman Trustee of the Dharmarth Trust but also a guiding force and inspiration for the entire organisation. He described it as a matter of privilege and honour for the Trust to offer prayers for the long and healthy life of such a distinguished son of Jammu and Kashmir.
He expressed confidence that under the continued guidance of Dr Karan Singh, the Dharmarth Trust would further strengthen its mission of religious, cultural and social service for the people of the region.
Meanwhile, a special Havan was also performed at the revered Mata Kheer Bhawani Temple, where Additional Secretary of the Dharmarth Trust Avinash and temple manager Darshan Sharma offered prayers for the Maharaja’s long and healthy life.
