LEH: The Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, celebrated the festival of Holi with the brave jawans of the Fire and Fury Corps, extending festive greetings and expressing gratitude for their dedicated service to the nation.
The Lieutenant Governor was received by Lt. Gen. Hitesh Bhalla, General Officer Commanding, 14 Corps, along with Maj. Gen. Sudhanshu Sharma, Chief of Staff, and other senior Army officials. The celebration reflected the vibrant spirit of Holi, marked by warmth and camaraderie.
Conveying greetings on behalf of the people of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta described Holi as a festival symbolising the triumph of good over evil and the values of unity, harmony and brotherhood. He noted that while citizens celebrate with their families, the soldiers deployed in Ladakh’s harsh terrain and extreme weather conditions ensure the nation’s safety and security.
During his interaction with the jawans, the Lieutenant Governor lauded their exemplary service and reaffirmed the administration’s continued support for the welfare of armed forces personnel, ex-servicemen and their families. He emphasised that celebrating festivals with the armed forces strengthens the bond between the people and the nation’s protectors.
Highlighting that Holi represents renewal and collective strength, he urged citizens to embrace unity and shared responsibility in contributing to nation-building and the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
The Lieutenant Governor shared sweets with the troops and joined in the celebrations, spreading festive cheer among the personnel.
Later,LG Kavinder Gupta also celebrated Holi with officers and staff at Lok Niwas and the LG Secretariat in Leh. Extending greetings to officials and employees, he appreciated their dedication in ensuring effective governance and public service delivery across the Union Territory and called for continued commitment towards Ladakh’s holistic development.
