JAMMU: The Directorate of School Education Jammu has extended winter vacations for all Government and Private Schools falling in the Summer Zone of Jammu Division till 17 January 2026, in view of the prevailing inclement weather conditions.
According to Order No. 17-DSEJ of 2026, the vacation applies to both teaching staff and students. However, Board Examinations for Classes 10th to 12th will continue as per the notified schedule, wherever applicable.
The Directorate has also advised schools to explore the possibility of conducting online classes from Class 6th onwards during the extended break.
The order further states that preparations for Republic Day 2026 celebrations will be carried out strictly as per the schedule notified by the competent authorities.
