JAMMU: The Railway Ministry will offer a 3 per cent discount on the purchase of unreserved tickets booked through the RailOne app using any digital payment mode from January 14 to July 14, 2026, officials said.
Currently, a 3 per cent cashback is available only on unreserved ticket bookings made through the R-wallet payment option on the RailOne app.
“In order to promote digital booking, it has been decided to provide a 3 per cent discount while booking unreserved tickets through all digital payment modes on the RailOne app,” the ministry said in a letter dated December 30, 2026, addressed to the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), directing it to make the necessary software changes.
The ministry said the discount scheme will remain in force for a six-month period, from January 14, 2026 to July 14, 2026, and added that CRIS will submit feedback on the implementation of the proposal in May 2026 for further review.
The letter clarified that the existing 3 per cent cashback on bookings made through R-wallet on the RailOne app will continue alongside the new discount scheme.
“Under the existing system, passengers receive a 3 per cent cashback when they book unreserved tickets on the RailOne app using R-wallet. Under the new offer, a 3 per cent discount will be provided for unreserved ticket bookings made through all digital payment modes on the RailOne app,” an official said.
The official further clarified that the discount scheme will not be available on any other online platform for the purchase of unreserved tickets.
