JAMMU: A delegation of land donors associated with the Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC) Department, Jammu, on Wednesday met Jal Shakti Minister Javed Ahmed Rana and submitted a memorandum seeking resolution of their long-pending demands.
During the meeting, the delegation informed the Minister that they have been working with the I&FC Department in lieu of land donated for the creation of key irrigation and flood control infrastructure. They highlighted their long-standing association with the department and their contribution towards strengthening irrigation and flood management in the region.
The land donors urged the Minister to take a sympathetic view of their pending issues and seek an early resolution.
Assuring the delegation, Minister Javed Ahmed Rana said that all their concerns are being examined thoroughly and would be addressed in a phased manner by the present government, strictly in accordance with existing rules and regulations.
The delegation was led by retired DIG A. Attri and included Vijay Lochan, M.K. Rana and other land donors.
