JAMMU: Under the guidance of the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), the Jammu Division of Northern Railway has taken another key step toward employee welfare and passenger convenience. On Thursday, DRM Vivek Kumar inaugurated a newly constructed gym and railway club at the Jammu Railway Colony.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Senior Divisional Finance Manager, other senior officials, and a large number of railway employees.
The new facilities aim to promote the physical and mental well-being of railway staff, while the Railway Club will serve as a hub for recreational and cultural activities within the colony. The gym has been equipped with modern fitness machines, including treadmills, strength-training and weightlifting equipment, ensuring a well-rounded workout environment. The club building has been developed to host cultural programmes and social gatherings.
Speaking on the occasion, DRM Vivek Kumar said,
“The gym and Railway Club will provide railway personnel an opportunity to take a break from routine duties and focus on their health. These facilities will encourage them to adopt a healthier and stress-free lifestyle.”
He added that the Railway Administration remains committed to expanding welfare facilities for employees and their families, while continuing to enhance passenger amenities across the division.
