SAMBA: In a swift and well-coordinated operation, Samba Police solved a cattle theft case within 24 hours, arresting four accused individuals and recovering all four stolen bovines.
The case was registered following a written complaint filed on November 25 at Police Post Rakh Amb Talli by Jagtar Singh, son of Bara Singh, a resident of Sordi, Pangdour (Samba). He reported that four of his bovines had been stolen from his residence during the night of November 24–25 by unidentified miscreants.
Acting promptly, an FIR (No. 289/2025) under Sections 331(4) and 305(a) of the BNS was lodged at Police Station Samba, and investigation was initiated without delay.
The SSP Samba formed a special investigation team led by the Incharge PP Rakh Amb Talli, supported by the Incharge BPP Pangdour, under the direct supervision of the SHO Samba and DySP DAR Samba.
Through sustained efforts and effective use of technical inputs, the team traced and apprehended the four accused from Bari Brahmana (Samba district), Bishnah, and Domana (Jammu district). All four stolen bovines were successfully recovered from their possession.
The arrested individuals have been identified as:
- Mohammad Rakhman @ Anu, S/o Ibrahim, R/o Kothey Sainian, Bishnah (Jammu)
- Ramjan Mohammad, S/o Meenu, R/o Dhraman, Basholi (Kathua), A/P Raipur Domana (Jammu)
- Abu Bilal, S/o Mohammad Yusuf, R/o Mathola, Bhaderwah (Doda), A/P Tanda Burj, Samba
- Jhan Mohammad, S/o Fathey Ali, R/o Jhakhar Shivnagar (Udhampur), A/P Bari Brahmana (Samba)
Police said that further investigation in the case is underway.
