JAMMU: To enhance passenger safety and strengthen railway security measures, a special security drive was carried out today at Jammu Railway Station under the supervision of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP), dog squad, and officials from the Commercial Department.
As part of this coordinated operation, comprehensive checking of passenger luggage, platforms, and incoming and outgoing trains was undertaken using metal detectors and dog squads. Critical areas including the waiting halls, reservation counters, booking office, and parcel office were also thoroughly inspected.
Passengers were simultaneously sensitized about safety precautions and urged to cooperate with security personnel to ensure a secure travel environment.
Officials informed that such special security drives are conducted periodically across stations in the Jammu Division of Northern Railway to maintain high levels of preparedness and vigilance. The exercise also aims to prevent any potential security threats and ensure smooth and safe train operations without inconvenience to passengers.
Divisional authorities have instructed all railway staff to remain alert during duty hours and report any suspicious activity or unattended object immediately.
