SRINAGAR: As the night chill intensifies across Kashmir, Srinagar — the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir — recorded the coldest night of the season at –1.6°C, officials from the Meteorological Department said on Wednesday.
According to MeT data, Pahalgam remained the coldest in the Valley, with temperatures dropping to –3.8°C.
Qazigund, the gateway to Kashmir, recorded a low of –1.5°C, while the mercury settled at –2.0°C in Kupwara.
The famous ski-resort Gulmarg recorded a minimum of –1.0°C, MeT officials said.
Meanwhile, Kokernag was the only major station to stay above the freezing point with a minimum temperature of 0.8°
