SRINAGAR: Police on Wednesday conducted coordinated searches at multiple locations in south Kashmir’s Shopian district, targeting the residences of Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) activists, officials said.
According to officials, the searches were carried out at the homes of several JeI members, including Dr. Hameed Fayaz of Nadigam and Mohammad Yousuf Falahie of Chitragam.
In a statement, a police spokesperson said, “Shopian Police are conducting searches at multiple locations across the district at the residences of JeI activists. The residences being searched include those of Dr. Hameed Fayaz (Nadigam), Mohammad Yousuf Falahie (Chitragam), and others.”
“Further details shall follow,” the spokesperson added.
