JAMMU: A meeting of the Mentoring and Monitoring Committee was chaired today by Principal District and Sessions Judge Jammu (Chairman DLSA) Tahir Khurshid Raina in his office chamber.
The meeting was attended by members of the Committee Sonia Gupta, Special Judge Anti-Corruption; Munish Kumar Manhas, Chief Judicial Magistrate and Maleeka Sharma, Civil Judge Senior Division/ Secretary DLSA, besides the Panel Lawyers and Pro Bono Lawyers of DLSA Jammu.
During the meeting, the work and performance of the Panel Lawyers was reviewed and necessary guidance was imparted for further improving the legal aid services.
Directions were issued to ensure timely conduct of programmes as per monthly calendar with same day reporting, timely collection of allotment orders, regular updation of cases on LSMS portal, participation in DLSA programmes and submission of disposal orders after disposal of cases.
The Principal District and Sessions Judge (Chairman, DLSA) Jammu heard the grievances raised by the Panel Lawyers and assured that the same shall be taken up with the concerned authorities.
He appreciated the sincere efforts and contribution of the Panel Lawyers in providing legal assistance to the marginalised and needy sections of the society. He encouraged them to continue rendering their services with greater dedication, compassion and commitment so that no person is deprived of access to justice and the objective of free and competent legal aid is fulfilled in its true spirit.
