REASI: Government Degree College Katra celebrated NSS Day today with great enthusiasm and active participation of NSS volunteers, students, faculty members and staff.
The programme was organised with the objective of promoting the spirit of social service, community participation and environmental responsibility among the students. The programme was organised under the able guidance of the principal of the college Dr. Rajni Bhagat.
The celebration began with an awareness programme highlighting the role of the National Service Scheme (NSS) in developing a sense of responsibility, discipline and service towards society. The participants were sensitised about the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy environment, conserving natural resources and contributing towards sustainable development.
The plantation drive was also organised in and around the college campus. NSS volunteers, along with faculty members and other participants, planted saplings and actively participated in the initiative. The plantation drive conveyed the message that collective efforts are essential for protecting the environment and creating a greener and healthier future.
The programme provided an opportunity for students to translate the ideals of NSS—“Not Me But You”—into meaningful action. The enthusiastic participation of the volunteers reflected their commitment towards community service and environmental conservation.
Dr. Sajad, Prof. Shikha Bhasin, Dr. Usha Sharma, Dr. Harmeet Kour, Prof. Nasar, Prof. Ajay and Prof. Mohd. Younus Saleem was present during the programme.
