ANANTNAG: A comprehensive meeting of the District Rent Assessment Committee, Anantnag was held today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat at the DC Office.
The meeting was convened to review and assess cases pertaining to rented accommodations being utilized by various government departments in the district.
Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned departments to ensure that rented accommodations are hired at feasible and suitable locations, keeping in view the convenience and easy accessibility of the general public, besides availability of essential facilities and other requirements. He emphasized that all cases related to hiring of private accommodations should be processed strictly after verification of requisite documents and fulfillment of prescribed norms.
During the meeting, 20 cases pertaining to different departments, including Handicrafts, Health, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), Revenue, Sheep Husbandry, Social Welfare, School Education, Police, ICDS and Agriculture were placed before the Committee for consideration. The Committee examined the technical aspects of these cases and deliberated upon each case in detail.
Following thorough scrutiny and discussions, 17 cases pertaining to different departments were approved by the committee, with consent of the concerned land/building owners.
Detailed discussions were also held with the departments occupying the rented premises as well as the respective building owners. Revenue and other relevant documents pertaining to the properties were scrutinized by the concerned officers. Deficiencies and gaps, wherever noticed, were brought to the attention of the concerned stakeholders for necessary rectification.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Muzamil Maqbool, Superintending Engineer R&B, Syed Ishfaq Ahmad, SP National Highway, DSHO, DySP DAR, AD FCS&CA, DSWO, CDPOs and representatives from other concerned departments.
