NEW DELHI: Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Jammu Chapter Chairman Rahul Sahai addressed the ICC Global Business Summit – Edition 2 at Taj Palace, New Delhi, highlighting transportation and mobility as critical drivers of India’s competitiveness, productivity and integration with global markets.
Sahai spoke during the session on “Transportation & Mobility for National Competitiveness – Next Gen Mobility: Connecting India to Global Markets,” which brought together senior representatives from government, railways, logistics, infrastructure and international organisations.
In his concluding remarks, Sahai said transportation and mobility had evolved beyond the movement of people and goods to become fundamental enablers of economic competitiveness. He emphasised the need for faster logistics, multimodal connectivity, modern warehousing, technology-driven supply chains and sustainable mobility solutions, particularly to strengthen the competitiveness of MSMEs.
Referring to Jammu & Kashmir, Sahai said improved highways, tunnels, rail connectivity and logistics infrastructure were transforming the region by opening new markets, encouraging investment, strengthening tourism and creating greater opportunities for local businesses and MSMEs.
