BENGALURU: Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries Limited, on Tuesday announced the launch of its new ice cream brand Bombay Creamery, marking its entry into India’s fast-growing ice cream market.
Backed by RCPL’s national distribution network, retail scale and consumer insights, the company said the launch reflects a long-term commitment to the category.
The brand has been positioned around the promise of “Global Quality at Affordable Price”, with its portfolio made using real dairy cream.
T Krishnakumar, Director, Reliance Consumer Products Limited, said the company had built Bombay Creamery around the principle that dairy products should not rely on shortcuts.
“We built Bombay Creamery around one simple idea that dairy shouldn’t need shortcuts. RCPL is not just entering the ice cream category — we’re committing to it,” he said.
Krishnakumar said the brand would offer the “genuine taste of a real ice cream” while keeping prices affordable for Indian families.
The Bombay Creamery portfolio includes a range of ice creams across popular formats such as cones, cups, tubs, bars and sticks, with prices starting at ₹10.
The products will initially be available across Western India, followed by a phased pan-India rollout, the company said.
The launch adds another category to RCPL’s expanding FMCG portfolio as the company looks to deepen its presence in mass-consumption segments across the country.
