DODA: The two-day 7th District Doda Yogasana Sports Championship 2026 concluded today here at the Indoor Stadium, with enthusiastic participation and impressive performances by young yogasana athletes.
Organized by the District Yogasana Sports Association, the championship provided a platform to students to showcase their skill, flexibility, balance and discipline.
The championship was conducted on September 10 and 11 under the supervision of Organizing Secretary Divya Gupta, Zonal Head Jammu.
As many as 100 students from different schools and sports clubs participated with great enthusiasm, competing in six events across different age categories. The closing ceremony witnessed outstanding performances by the participating children, followed by the presentation of medals to the deserving winners.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Anil Thakur was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Chairman, AMBA Kids School Ashwani attended as the Special Guest. Manager Indoor Stadium Rajesh Kotwal attended as the Observer.
In the Senior Category, Nitika and Amit (Boys) secured Gold Medals, while Naresh won a Silver Medal. In the Senior B Category, Arpandeep bagged Gold and Chandrakanta secured Silver. In the Sub-Junior, Junior and Cadet Categories, Gold Medals were won by Mehfooz, Ritesh, Krish (Cadet Category), Sonakshi, Kanika and Rubika, while Akshu and Ankita secured Silver Medals.
Addressing the gathering, the Organizing Secretary congratulated all the medal winners for their hard work, dedication and sporting spirit. She also expressed gratitude to the District Administration Doda, dignitaries, school managements, sports clubs and parents for their valuable support and cooperation in making the championship a grand success.
The successful conduct of the championship reflects the growing interest among youth in yogasana and sports, while promoting physical fitness, mental discipline and a healthy lifestyle among the younger generation.
