RAJOURI: A one-day Capacity Building Workshop and Entrepreneurship Mela was successfully organised here today at ITI Rajouri under Mission YUVA by the Employment Department in collaboration with the Skill Development Department.
The event aimed to promote entrepreneurial spirit, digital literacy, and skill-based learning among the youth of the district.
Member Legislative Assembly Budhal, Javaid Iqbal Choudhary presided over the event in presence of District Nodal Officer, Mission YUVA (ADC) Rajouri, Chander Prakash Kotwal.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Javaid Iqbal Choudhary lauded the efforts of the District Administration and Employment Department for initiating meaningful programmes under Mission YUVA. He emphasized the importance of skilling and innovation in shaping a self-reliant and empowered youth population. “Today’s youth must embrace entrepreneurship not only as a career choice but as a means of contributing to the economy and society at large. Platforms like these are crucial for igniting that spark,” he said.
The day-long programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from final year students and pass-outs of various Degree Colleges, BGSBU, and ITI Rajouri. The event provided a vibrant platform for youth to engage in skill enhancement sessions and explore self-employment opportunities.
A speech competition on Entrepreneurship and Technology was held encouraging youth to share innovative ideas. Hands-on sessions were held on tools such as Canva, Excel, and PowerPoint, enabling participants to build practical digital competencies.
The participants were also give a live demonstration of the Mission YUVA app, guiding students on skilling modules, loan applications, and registration procedures.
Resource persons from JKEDI, ITI Rajouri and BGSBU Polytechnic led engaging sessions on entrepreneurship development, highlighting the benefits of the JK Startup Policy and various government schemes for budding entrepreneurs.
An added attraction was the Entrepreneurship Mela, where departments including the Skill Development Department set up informative stalls showcasing student innovations, skill-based projects, and entrepreneurial models.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and a collective pledge to strengthen the district’s skilling ecosystem and foster a new generation of self-reliant entrepreneurs under Mission YUVA.
