JAMMU: Police Station Arnia has arrested six alleged members of the Khouf Gang in connection with a threat incident involving a local resident at Kool Kalan earlier this month, recovering a pistol, live ammunition and five tokkas from their possession.
According to police, the accused, all residents of Bishnah, were allegedly involved in threatening Ashwani Kumar at Kool Kalan on September 3 by displaying a pistol and tokkas.
Acting on the complaint, police launched an investigation and apprehended all six accused on Monday. During their arrest, the police recovered one pistol along with a magazine, three live rounds and five tokkas from their possession.
Police said further investigation is in progress to establish the accused persons’ involvement, if any, in other criminal activities.
The arrests and recovery are being seen as part of the police drive against criminal elements and gangs operating in the Jammu region.
