SRINAGAR: Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma on Sunday reviewed the security situation and operational preparedness of troops deployed across south Kashmir, calling for sustained vigilance and close coordination among security agencies to meet emerging challenges.
Lt Gen Sharma visited various hinterland units in south Kashmir and took stock of the prevailing security environment as well as the operational readiness of the troops deployed in the region.
“Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, #ArmyCdrNC, visited hinterland units in South #Kashmir to review the prevailing security situation and assess operational preparedness of deployed troops,” the Army’s Northern Command said in a post on X.
During the visit, the Army Commander stressed the importance of maintaining a high state of alertness and ensuring effective synergy with all stakeholders. He emphasised that close coordination and operational preparedness would remain critical to responding effectively to any emerging security challenge.
The visit assumes significance as security forces continue to maintain a heightened state of vigilance in south Kashmir, with the operational readiness of troops and coordination among agencies forming a key component of the prevailing security arrangements.
Lt Gen Sharma’s assessment of the ground situation and interaction with deployed formations also reaffirmed the Army’s focus on maintaining a robust security posture and ensuring that troops remain prepared to respond swiftly to evolving circumstances.
