POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma, along with Additional Deputy Commissioner Tahir Mustafa Malik visited District hospital immediately after receiving information about a tragic road accident at Shindra in Tehsil Surankote in which six persons lost their lives and three others sustained injuries.
During his visit to the hospital, the Deputy Commissioner interacted with the attendants of injured persons. He enquired from the medical staff about the condition and the treatment being provided to the injured.
The Deputy Commissioner was apprised that soon after the accident, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Parvez Ahmed Khan, mobilised eight ambulances from the DH and Sub-District Hospital Surankote to the accident site for the rescue and evacuation of the injured.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the health department to ensure that all possible medical care is provided to the injured.
The accident occurred when a vehicle on way from Poonch to Shindra went out of control and plunged into a deep gorge.
The district administration expressed deep sorrow over the loss of precious lives and conveyed its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. The administration assured that every possible assistance would be extended to the affected families and that all necessary medical care would be provided to the injured.
