KATRA: Reasi Police has registered an FIR against a pony handler for allegedly operating on the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Yatra Track without a valid identification or registration card.
Police said FIR No. 292/2026 under Section 223(a) of the BNS has been registered against Rahul Kumar, son of Sham Lal, a resident of Ward No. 09, Arli Hansali, Tehsil Katra, District Reasi. The action was taken after he was allegedly found operating as a pony handler without the requisite ID/registration card within the jurisdiction of Police Post Banganga.
Reasi Police said carrying a valid registration/identification card is mandatory for pony operators and handlers working on the Yatra track. It directed all such operators to keep their valid cards with them while operating on the track.
Police further warned that anyone found operating without the required registration or ID card would face action in accordance with law.
Reasi Police reiterated that the enforcement drive is aimed at ensuring the safety and security of pilgrims and maintaining smooth movement along the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Yatra Track.
