KATHUA: The Rural Development Department, Kathua on Saturday organised a District-Level One-Day Capacity Building and Awareness Workshop on VB-G RAM G here at Government Degree College. Around 300 officers and field functionaries participated. Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma was the Chief Guest, while ADDC Surinder Mohan Sharma attended as Guest of Honour. ACD Dr Gulshan Kumar welcomed the guests and participants.
The BDOs, Panchayat Accounts Assistants, Gram Rozgar Sahayaks, Junior Engineers, technical officers and other field functionaries deliberated on planning, implementation and operational aspects of VB-G RAM G.
Addressing the participants, the Deputy Commissioner stressed that the success of rural development programmes is reflected in their effective delivery at the Panchayat level. He called for transparency, accountability and integrity in planning and execution and judicious utilisation of public resources.
ADDC Surinder Mohan Sharma stressed the need for coordinated efforts, effective monitoring and timely execution of works to achieve the objectives of the programme.
ACD Dr Gulshan Kumar emphasised proper identification and planning of works, technical scrutiny, quality execution, accurate measurement and documentation, timely payments and effective monitoring. He also stressed close coordination among district, block and Panchayat-level functionaries.
The technical sessions were conducted by BDO Nagrota Gujroo Madan Mohan and Master Trainer, who briefed the participants on the VB-G RAM G Act, its vision and key provisions, with focus on practical implementation.
The sessions covered Gram Panchayat-level planning, permissible works, convergence and digital processes through Yuktdhara, SECURE and e-MB 2.0. Participants were also briefed on MIS, NMMS, e-KYC, FTO and wage-payment workflows.
An interactive doubt-clearing session was held with participation of UT-level technical experts, during which field functionaries raised implementation-related issues and sought clarifications.
BDO (HQ) Shallu Kumari Loona coordinated the programme and facilitated the technical sessions.
The workshop concluded with directions to field functionaries to ensure transparent, accountable and quality implementation of VB-G RAM G in letter and spirit, with focus on effective grassroots delivery.
